I am so excited!! I am getting a brand new lens for my Nikon D40. I am waiting anxiously for the UPS guy to deliver it today. 

I know it is going to be a bit challenging learning to use this lens...just because I am used to zoom lenses...but, I am hoping to get some great shots. 

Not that I believe a brand new lens is going to all of a sudden make me a better photographer....

but, it will help me finally have the courage to take my camera off the auto setting. 

I have tried to learn manual...but, my pictures never seem to turn out as well as the ones I take just on auto. I am not sure why this is...I have read...re-read..and read again ...lots of tutorials on how to shoot in manual, but for some reason..it just seems the photos I take on manual...suck. 

So...this is going to be the lens I use to learn how to master manual!! I will prevail!! 

So...please, UPS guy...hurry up and get here so I can start practicing!!
